A very nice treat to have this amazing 1977 iconic Eames Lounge (670) + Ottoman (671) offered at our shop. Both the chair and ottoman have original Herman Miller labels underneath, stamped Dec 6, 1977. Designed by Charles and Ray Eames and first produced in 1956, these loungers were made with Brazilian Rosewood until the early 1990s, and since then have been offered with a few different wood finishes to choose from including santos pailsander, a more sustainable type of rosewood. Condition: Excellent overall considering the age.
Rosewood is in excellent condition with no chipping. There are a few slight marks on the back of one panel on the chair. The rosewood on the ottoman has a darker tone and stronger wood graining than the rosewood on the chair, both look fantastic though.
Black leather is in good condition considering the age. There is some patina and slight cracking in the leather, mostly on the chair seat and one arm rest.
Connectors and bases are in very good condition with no issues, only a slight cosmetic dulling on the silver metal parts.
