We’re very pleased to offer this rare Papa Bear chair designed by Hans Wegner. This chair comes from the original owners and was first purchased in 1957. The family had it reupholstered in 1998, and the upholsterer kept all the fine details correct to the original. The chair is in excellent condition, extremely comfortable. A nice opportunity to add an iconic mid-century chair to your home, created by one of the eras most influential designers. 

Hans Wegner (1914–2007) was a prolific Danish designer, renowned as a master of “organic functionalism”. Trained as a cabinetmaker, he designed over 500 chairs, focusing on honest materials, exquisite craftsmanship, and comfort. A leading figure in Danish mid-century modernism and designer of many iconic chairs: Wishbone Chair, Papa Bear Chair, Ox Chair and The Round Chair; the list goes on.
